Grow Picks Grounds for Sculpture
For those of you who are interested in unique artwork, or just enjoy discovering new “secret” treasures in the Philadelphia suburbs,
Grounds for Sculpture invites you to expand your artistic horizons. Grounds for Sculpture, located in Hamilton, N.J., offers an amazing world of artwork to visitors. It’s easy to spend an entire day exploring this 35-acre sculpture park. Its impressive gardens are tranquil, and you will find yourself strolling along the banks of a scenic lake enjoying waterfalls, garden paths, gorgeous flowers — and more than 200 spectacular pieces of sculpture. You may even spot a peacock quietly strutting along one of the pathways. Also, the park’s indoor museum will dazzle your senses with exhibits from well-known and emerging artists.
After you work up an appetite from all that walking, you can choose from several distinctive restaurants appropriate for all tastes and pocketbooks. Rats, an upscale restaurant offering French cuisine, has recently opened its new, smaller Kafe Kabul, providing visitors with a cozy atmosphere and casual fare in its sunroom with Middle Eastern decor. In addition, the museum features a cafe and (in warmer months) the gazebo has food and beverages, too. Visit www.groundsforsculpture.org for details about hours of operation, directions, upcoming exhibits, educational programs and other special events. The park is approximately 45 minutes from Philadelphia. To get there, take New Jersey’s I-295 north to exit 65B, Sloan Avenue West. Entrance fees vary from weekdays to weekends.
